Aspiring Medical Professionals of America
AMP meets on alternating Mondays after school in C105 from 2:30-3:30. This is a student –lead club that emphasizes careers in the medical field. We have guest speakers, and do activities related to the medical field such as blood pressure, reflexes, and practice suturing. The club is open to everyone and there are no commitments—come to as many meetings as you can.
Business Professionals of America
BPA is open to any student who has taken or currently enrolled in a business class. BPA is a business club centered around fostering business skills for future application to the real world and transforming students into future leaders of America. The club is student driven and allows members to focus on different aspects of business such as finance, accounting, marketing and management, and learning new skills through competitive events based around these topics. Members may attend conferences and participate in area, state and national competitions. Meetings will typically be held on Thursdays at 6:45 a.m. in the large forum room.
DECA
DECA is an international competitive business club that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA competitors compete in tests, role-plays, and online simulations at the sectional, state, and international level. NVHS DECA meets most Thursday mornings during the year at 6:50 a.m. in C204.
Future Educators Association
Join us in B103(main building) at 6:45 am on Weds. morning, We meet every Wednesday morning and the first Tuesday of every month after school. What are the perks of being in this club?
- Weekly Meetings include activities that simulate teaching in a classroom and guest speakers from all areas of education cover a variety of topics including choosing a college, classroom management, careers in teaching and beyond the classroom.
- Internships give you the opportunity to help in an elementary school classroom at least once a week which is a great way to see if teaching is right for you and further develop your skills.
- Teacher Shadow Days allow you to shadow a teacher for an entire day in the classroom of your choice. You can explore different age groups and subjects each semester.
- Read for the Record gives you the opportunity to do direct teaching during the annual Read for the Record Day at a local grade school. High school students read a story and do a follow-up activity with grade school students.
- A variety of teacher appreciation activities including the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast give you opportunitites to recognize and interact with influential educators.
- Education-related Community Service such as tutoring or homework clubs
- Membership in a Professional, International Organization looks great on your college applications and resume.
- Partnership with Aurora University offers leadership training and teacher training
GIRLS IN STEM
Our Mission: Encourage the new generation of women to further their education within the male-dominated STEM fields through exploring the multitude of career opportunities available. Neuqua Valley's Girls in STEM Club is dedicated to educating and inspiring young girls to pursue careers in STEM. Multiple studies indicated only about half of female high-school age students believe that they can find success in male-dominated STEM industries. Girls in STEM strives to inspire, educate, and motivate female students across our community to overcome obstacles and reach for success in STEM fields. We meet every other Thursday and new members are always welcome.

I.D.E.A.
The NVHS IDEA (Illinois DESIGN Educator’s Association) Club is a great way to meet NVHS TEE Department staff and students who share the same interests in various areas of Technology and Engineering. While part of this club, students will have the ability to learn and use current equipment and software used throughout industry. In addition, members will get the chance to represent NVHS at the regional and state level. Most importantly, members will get the opportunity to expand their knowledge of Engineering, Design and Drafting to prepare themselves for college, trade schools, or future careers.
Model United Nations
Participation in the Model United Nations Club is open to all grade levels. Participants research current international events and debate related issues at two conferences held at the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois. Model UN offers a unique opportunity to study current news topics, develop high-level communication skills, and socialize with high-school students from across the United States.
National Business Honor Society
National Business Honor Society is a nationally recognized organization that strives to recognize students' excellence in business. Students participate in various business activities, community service and other business-related events. To participate students must be a junior or a senior, have taken or be enrolled in their third business class and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 and a 3.5 GPA in their business classes.
Robotics Club
Collaboration, coding, hands-on building, and competition is the essence of Robotics Club. This club provides students with an opportunity to learn the basics of electro-mechanical technology using the VEX Educational Robotics Design System. Students meet twice weekly to design and build a robot that may ultimately compete against other robots in regional, state, national, and world competition. Membership into Robotics Club is through an application process in August.
SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.
TARC
The Neuqua Valley High School Rocket Club is open to all NVHS students. We have fun learning about rockets and aerospace vehicles, and we design, build, launch and test rockets to meet specific performance requirements. Students can join for fun or compete in the The American Rocketry Challenge, or TARC. TARC teams may qualify for the national competition in Virginia in May each year. We meet weekly to learn about rocket design, build rockets and launch them - weather permitting”

TV Production Club
The TV/Film Club meets every other Thursday after school in C104 and is open to all Neuqua Students interested in Television or Film production. Activities vary from creating content to analyzing it. We typically meet for an hour (2:30-3:30) every other Thursday with some outside meeting time opportunities available to club members as well. Students do not need to attend every meeting to be involved.

Youth and Government
Interested in debate? Current events? Improving your leadership or communication skills? Youth and Government is a state-wide program focused on developing tomorrow's leaders and promoting active citizenship. In this competitive club, students take on the roles of legislators, attorneys, executive officials, lobbyists, press members and more. Youth and Government culminates in a three-day event where students literally take over the state capitol -- debating bills, arguing and judging cases, and reporting the news of the day.
